We embarked on a trip to the Saint Catherine monastery, situated in the center of the Sinai Peninsula at an elevation of 1570 meters. This is the place where, as per tradition, Moses witnessed a burning bush that miraculously remained unscathed. 

The location where Moses received the tablets containing the ten commandments is situated in the base region of Gable Moses, or Mount Sinai.

The monastery has its origins in the time of Emperor Justinian in the 6th century. It was during this time that the enclosure wall surrounding the monastery was constructed. However, it wasn’t until the beginning of the 11th century that the monastery was given the name Saint Catherine, in tribute to the martyr saint Catherine, who was one of the first Christians in Alexandria.

St. Catherine’s Trip includes:

• It is not advisable to take the night train due to several reasons, which include the long duration of 15 to 18 hours, unsanitary and unpleasant toilets, and food that does not cater to the general preference.

• There may be a schedule adjustment during your tour, but we assure you that you will still have the opportunity to see all the designated areas.

• We are open to receiving secure payments through various methods, such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as through direct bank transfers or cash payments.

• If your circumstances prevent you from canceling your holiday plans, we guarantee a refund of your money. Alternatively, you may choose to reschedule your trip by booking new dates. There are two cases that can happen:

1. You will receive a complete refund of your payment if the tour is cancelled 30 days prior to the scheduled date, unless the tour involves non-refundable excursions.
2. If the time frame is under 30 days, we’ll assess the expenses connected to the hotel and cruise, and inform you of the discount that we will need to apply.

• Children’s policy:

1. Under 2 years free of charge.
2. During the period of 2 to 5 years, a quarter of the trip cost is paid.
3. Children between the ages of 6 and 11 will be charged half of the tour’s total cost.
4. 12+: Pay the full round price per adult.

• Some tours do not cover the fees needed to access privately owned archaeological sites, such as exploring the intricate burial chambers and the mummy room of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo or visiting the Tomb of Tutankhamun located in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.

• It is important to wear flat shoes that are covered and comfortable when visiting the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings. It is recommended for visitors to bring slippers or sandals to wear during day tours.
