Experience the pleasure of touring the renowned attractions of Luxor, situated on both sides of the majestic Nile River! Take a trip to the iconic Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the eastern bank, followed by exploring the remarkable Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and the awe-inspiring Colossi of Memnon.
Explore the Valley of the Kings, marvel at the majestic architectural splendor that served as a final resting place for numerous monarchs. Some of the most famous burial sites include the tombs of King Tuthmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramssess VI, King Mrenptah, and Amonhotep II.
Explore the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, constructed by the remarkable Queen Hatshepsut herself. She was the daughter of Thutmosis I and governed Egypt for around two decades in the 18th Dynasty (around 1490–1469 B.C.). This distinguished her as the sole female pharaoh to rule over ancient Egypt.
As you continue on your journey, you will come across the colossi of Memnon. These towering structures are what remain of the mortuary temple that once belonged to Amenhotep III.
Keep driving towards the eastern side of Luxor and take the opportunity to have lunch at a nearby restaurant if you wish. Afterward, proceed to explore the Karnak Temples, which are the best representation of worship throughout history. These temples were mainly devoted to the God Amon, along with his wife Mut and their son Khonsu.
Conclude your trip by stopping at the Luxor Temple, which was constructed by Amunhotep III in the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom and later finished by Ramesses II in the 19th Dynasty.
