The Mummies Halls are the most prized possession of the museum. The entire globe has been in awe of the Pharaoh’s Golden Parade, which transported 22 royal mummies from the Old Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to their new permanent home at the National Museum of Civilization.
The Royal Mummies Hall was created specifically to showcase the mummies of ancient Egypt, including those of King Ramses the Second, Queen Hatshepsut, King Thutmos the Third, and Queen Ahmos Nefertary. It is designed to give visitors the sensation of walking through the Valley of Kings, where the mummies were originally laid to rest. The exhibition in the Royal Mummies Hall includes around 150 pieces, including the mummies themselves and their coffins. This is the first time that each mummy will be displayed alongside the coffin it was discovered in. The mummies are now housed in special rooms beneath the main hall, representing the “underworld” in which the royal mummies were unearthed.

This exhibition adopts a comprehensive approach, employing various branches of knowledge to emphasize Egypt’s tangible and intangible cultural legacy.
Afterwards, proceed to explore the magnificent Great Pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerions. Among them, Cheops stands out as the largest ever constructed. The museum showcases approximately 11,500 artifacts that were once owned by the family and descendants of Mohammed Ali, including personal belongings and gifts. Recently, additional jewels from the Mohammed Ali family, which had been held in pledge for sixty years at the Central Bank of Egypt, have been added to the museum’s collection.
Please be aware that the Alexandria Library is not open on Fridays or on public holidays. If you wish to access the reading area, kindly obtain an additional ticket.
Afterwards, you can explore the location where the Lighthouse, one of the Ancient World’s Seven Wonders, once stood. Now, it houses the Qaitbey castle. Additionally, you can also take a trip to the royal gardens of King Farouk, the final monarch in Egypt’s history. You’ll have the chance to witness the grandeur of the Haramlek and Salamlek palaces and admire the beautiful beaches designated for the queens. As you continue your journey, make sure to visit the Abu El Abbas Mosque, which is not only the most stunning but also the largest mosque in the city. Furthermore, don’t miss the opportunity to pay respects at the memorial dedicated to the Unknown Soldier of Alexandria and to see the statue of Alexander the Great.

On the fourth day of king tut tomb & alexandria treasures package, you will be transferred to the domestic airport to catch your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you, and your full-day tour will begin on the West Bank. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Valley of the Kings and explore the tombs of various dynasties. One of the tombs you will visit is King Tutankhamun’s, where you will be able to go inside. Tutankhamun was the ruler of Egypt for about 10 years, from around 1336–1327 BCE. It was in November 1922 that Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon discovered Tutankhamun’s almost untouched tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Inside, they found his mummified body surrounded by valuable items, all placed in his golden coffin. On February 17, 1923, the burial chamber was officially opened in the presence of Egyptologists and government officials.
Today, Tutankhamun holds the status of being the most well-known pharaoh in ancient Egypt. However, how familiar are you with the details regarding this young ruler? Throughout this tour, I will enlighten you on the lesser-known information about Tutankhamun.

You will require comfortable, flat shoes (ideally with a covering) when visiting the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings. Don’t forget to also pack flip flops or sandals to wear on the Nile felucca or Nile Cruiser.
