On the second day of valley of queens package, we will visit the Giza Pyramids and the Egyptian Civilization Museum, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the history and culture of ancient Egypt. Additionally, we will have the chance to experience the presence of mummies.
Have breakfast and begin your tour by visiting the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. This is the only museum in Egypt that provides a comprehensive view of all the different historical periods in Egypt. With over 50,000 artifacts, it showcases Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day.
The Egyptian Civilization Museum’s Royal Mummies Hall is a must-see attraction. It features a special section dedicated to preserving the royal mummies discovered in various tombs. The room is carefully maintained to provide proper climatic conditions for the mummies, ensuring their well-being. Despite being mummified over 4000 years ago, the mummies of Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis, and Ramses, along with other kings and queens, remain in good condition. However, they now appear smaller and shorter compared to their original height. Take a leisurely stroll through this room and witness the peaceful resting place of these pharaohs and queens, far away from their original tombs.
Afterwards, you should make a stop at the impressive Great Pyramids—specifically, the Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerions pyramids. Among these magnificent structures, the Cheops pyramid stands out as the largest and most monumental. Another must-see attraction is the Sphinx, which is located nearby. This enormous burial site is protected by the iconic body of a lion with the face of King Chephren.
Take pleasure in your camel ride and experience the remarkable, sweeping vistas of the Sphinx and Pyramids. Listen to captivating tales of the secretive aspects of the Pharaohs’ lives. I will provide you with exclusive insights and information that cannot be found in any book.
(Not required) You have the option to take an evening excursion to see the sound and light show in the Pyramids area.
Overnight in Cairo
On the third day of the valley of queens package, we will explore Cairo before embarking on a Nile cruise and visiting a Nubian village.
In the morning, after having breakfast, you will be taken to the domestic airport for your flight to Aswan. Once you arrive, you will be transferred to visit the Philae temple. Afterward, you will embark on a motorboat to immerse yourself in traditional Egyptian village life during the Nubian village tour. Leaving the bustling city behind, you will cruise to a picturesque Nubian village located on the west bank of the Nile River. There, you can enjoy stunning views of the riverside and learn about the customs and culture of the local Nubian people.
The Nubian village is situated on the western side of the Nile River. While you travel, take pleasure in the panoramic sights of Soheil Island and the Aswan Dam, and don’t forget to capture the beautiful scenery with your camera. Accompanied by your guide, you will have the opportunity to visit a native village and get acquainted with an authentic Nubian family. Discover their way of life and culture, and gain a deep understanding of the ancient traditions that the Nubians have upheld for countless centuries.
Next, embark on the cruise and enjoy a delicious lunch while sailing towards Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, indulge in a relaxing tea session. Explore the fascinating temple, which is dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Continue sailing towards Edfu and savor a delightful dinner on board. As the night progresses, join the energetic disco party. Rest and spend the night in Edfu.
Enjoy breakfast on the boat and then embark on a visit to the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Proceed to cross the lock and continue sailing to Luxor. Indulge in an afternoon tea and savor a delicious dinner on the boat, followed by a fun Galabya party. Spend the night in Luxor.
On the fifth day of valley of queens package, we will visit Luxor and explore King Tut’s Tomb as well as the Valley of Kings and Queens.
Have breakfast on the ship. Take a trip to the West Bank and explore the Valley of the Kings, where you can visit the tombs of different dynasties. One of the tombs you will have the opportunity to explore from the inside is King Tutankhamun’s. Tutankhamun was an Egyptian ruler who reigned for about 10 years, from around 1336 to 1327 BCE. In November 1922, Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon made a momentous discovery in the Valley of the Kings: Tutankhamun’s tomb, which was almost untouched. Inside, they found the king’s mummified body surrounded by valuable grave items, all enclosed in a golden coffin. On February 17, 1923, the burial chamber was officially opened in the presence of Egyptologists and government officials.
Nowadays, Tutankhamun is the most well-known pharaoh in ancient Egypt. However, there is still much to learn about this young king. On this tour, I will share with you some lesser-known information about Tutankhamun.
tourist destination and a burial site for queens and princesses during the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. It is still admired for its stunning scenery and the intricate and well-preserved tombs that house the remains of these powerful women. Remember to make time to explore this remarkable site that showcases both natural beauty and royal history.
Within this necropolis lie the burial grounds of the prestigious royal family and upper-class individuals. There are approximately 90 tombs dedicated to queens and princes from the era of the ancient Egyptian New Kingdom, spanning from 1550 to 1070 BC. During your visit, you will also have the opportunity to explore the splendid and vibrant tomb of Queen Nefertari, although an additional ticket is required for entry.
Next, proceed to explore the Temple of Deir el-Bahari, dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut. On the way back, make a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon, which are two enormous seated statues depicting Amenopis III gazing towards the Nile. Finally, conclude the visit by exploring the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Enjoy lunch on the ship before having the rest of the afternoon to relax and do as you please. Indulge in afternoon tea later in the day. Spend the night in Luxor.
Breakfast on board. Disembarkation.
Next, continue on to explore Luxor Museum, a remarkable institution that houses a carefully selected and expertly showcased assortment of historical artifacts spanning from the decline of the Old Kingdom to the Mamluk era. These precious relics primarily originate from the Theban temples and necropolis and are accompanied by thorough explanations to enhance understanding.
Afterwards, proceed to explore the Karnak Temples, which are renowned as the most exceptional expression of religious devotion throughout history. These temples were solely built to honor the divine figures: Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. Their construction commenced during the Middle Kingdom and continued until the Greco-Roman Kingdom.
Next, proceed to Luxor Temple, which was constructed by Amunhotep III in the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. Later, Ramesses II finished the temple during the 19th Dynasty.
In the 19th Dynasty, King Ramses II was widely renowned as the most prominent ruler. He held the throne of Egypt for approximately 67 years, during which time he devoted himself to the worship and reverence of the mighty deity Amun-Ra, along with his wife Mut and their son Khonsu, collectively known as the Theban triad. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Obelisk of Ramses II, prominently displayed in front of the 1st Pylon.
Next, proceed to Luxor Airport and board a flight to Cairo. Once you arrive, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo, where you will be staying overnight.
To begin your seventh day of the valley of queens package to Alexandria, your hotel will be the meeting point for our tour guide. The first destination is the renowned Alexandria Library, which holds the title of the world’s largest library and currently houses an impressive collection of 8 million books. Upon arrival, you will explore the library’s open court, where notable attractions such as the statues of Alexander the Great and Ptolemy the First are on display. Interestingly, the latter statue was discovered submerged in water in close proximity to the library. Outside the library, our knowledgeable guide will provide an explanation of its architectural design, and you will also have the opportunity for some photo opportunities.
Please be aware that an additional ticket purchase is required to access the reading area.
Next, explore the Lighthouse Site, which is now home to Qaitbey Castle, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Take a stroll through the royal gardens of King Farouk, the last monarch in Egypt’s history, and marvel at the grandeur of the Haramlek and Salamlek royal palaces, along with the picturesque beaches reserved for the queens. Continue your tour by visiting the Abbo Elabbas Mosque, renowned as the city’s most beautiful and largest mosque. Also, pay your respects at the memorial dedicated to the Unknown Soldier of Alexandria and admire the statue of Alexander the Great.
Afterwards, you have the option to take a break for lunch before heading to the church of St. Mark, which is the oldest church in Africa. Then, you can drive along the Cornish, which is a 30-kilometer road, to get a panoramic view of the entire city of Alexandria from the seaside. This view includes the old harbor of Alexandria, where an impressive 7,000 underwater monuments have been discovered. Therefore, we strongly suggest considering our Luxury or Ultimate Luxury hotel options as the minimum standard in Egypt. Some 5-star hotels in Egypt may have a lower standard compared to those in other regions, resembling more like 3- or 4-star hotels. We do not recommend staying at 3- or 4-star hotels, as we have received numerous complaints from our guests regarding their quality.
