Start your day trip to Alexandria by being picked up from your hotel and heading to Alexandria. Begin by exploring the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a significant Roman Cemetery comprising three levels carved into the rock. Afterwards, continue your trip to the Roman Amphitheater of Alexandria, where you can witness the sunken monuments of Alexandria that were found beneath the East Harbor. Along the way, pass by Pompay’s Pillar and take a moment to capture a photo. This pillar was built in tribute to Emperor Diocletian towards the end of the 4th century.
The next destination on the itinerary is the Library of Alexandria, which holds the title of being the largest library globally, housing a staggering 8 million books. In this library, you can explore its open court, where two significant statues can be admired: one of Alexander the Great and another of Ptolemy the First, which was discovered in the nearby underwater area.
