Your Egywonders tour guide will be expecting your arrival. They will have a Ramasside sign and will be easily recognizable to start your three-day Abu Simbel and Aswan tour as follows:
At 7:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor and taken to Aswan, which is approximately a 3.5-hour drive. In Aswan, you will go on a wonderful tour to see the magnificent Philae Temple, which was built to honor the Goddess Isis, the main deity of the island. Lunch at a local restaurant in Aswan is included in the tour. Afterward, you will take a motorboat ride to the Nubian Village, located at the bottom of Elephantine Island, where you can experience the simple and natural lifestyle of the friendly and hospitable Nubian people. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel in Aswan for check-in and have some free time to relax and spend the night.
The hotel in Aswan will provide breakfast, and at 10:00 AM, your guide and driver will take you to Abu Simbel, which is about a 3-hour drive. Upon arrival, your Safari Trip will begin from Shokan Mount, which is about 15 kilometers from Abu Simbel, with two stops for taking photos of the Sphinx and Shitan Mountains. Once we reach Shokan Mountain, we will hike for 2 kilometers until we reach the lake. Then, we will ride a boat and enjoy the natural scenery of the lake, taking photos of the Abu Simbel temples and the Bird Mountain, also known as The White Mountain. After that, we will return to the hotel to spend the night. There is an option to attend the Sound and Light Show at the Abu Simbel Temples. Meals included are breakfast and lunch.
Once you finish breakfast at the hotel, it will be time to check out and embark on a visit to the two remarkable Abu Simbel Temples. These temples, renowned for their distinctive design, are regarded as the most splendid works of ancient Egypt. They are a testament to the magnificence and splendor of the new Kingdom era. To protect these temples from the threat of floods, both the Egyptian government and UNESCO collaborated in an effort to preserve them.
The Temple of Ramsses II was consecrated to four gods that are universally recognized: Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and Ramsses II himself. Another name for the magnificent Abu Simbel temple is The Sun Temple of Ramsses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also known as the Temple of Hathor, who was the wife of the Sun God. In a symbolic manner, these two temples, dedicated to Ramsses II and Nefertari, symbolically unite Ramsses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God together as a single entity.
