Begin your second day of 6 days Archaeology lovers package by having breakfast and then heading to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. This museum stands out as it provides a comprehensive representation of Egypt’s various historical eras. With a vast collection of over 50,000 artifacts, it offers a glimpse into the entirety of Egyptian civilization, spanning from prehistoric ages to modern times. The Mummies Halls are considered the most valuable and prestigious exhibit in the museum. People all over the globe were captivated by the remarkable Pharaoh’s Golden Parade, where 22 royal mummies were transported from the Old Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to their new permanent home in the National Museum of Civilization.
The Mummies collection includes the mummies of King Ramses the Second, Queen Hatshepsut, King Thutmos the Third, and Queen Ahmos Nefertary. The Royal Mummies Hall was specifically created to showcase the mummies from ancient Egypt. The design and location of the mummies in an underground setting aim to give visitors the sensation of walking through the Valley of Kings, where many of the mummies were originally laid to rest. The Royal Mummies Hall displays approximately 150 pieces, which include both the mummies and their coffins. For the first time, each mummy will be exhibited alongside the coffin in which it was discovered. The mummies are now housed in special halls beneath the main hall, symbolizing the “underworld” where the royal mummies were found.
Afterwards, you will be given the opportunity to explore the primary exhibition halls that display the history of Egyptian civilization from ancient times to the present, utilizing an interdisciplinary method that emphasizes the physical and intangible legacy of the country.
Afterward, proceed to explore the magnificent Great Pyramids, specifically the breathtaking structures of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerions. Among them, Cheops stands out as the largest ever constructed. Following that, take a detailed view of the Sphinx, a massive burial site protected by the iconic lion body and the face of the esteemed king, Chephren.
Optional: You have the option to go on an evening excursion to watch the sound and light show in the area of the Pyramids.
Overnight in Cairo
The tour of Alexandria will start with our tour guide picking you up from your hotel. Kindly note that the Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and public holidays. To enter the reading area, an extra ticket is required.
To begin, ensure that you visit the Lighthouse Site, formerly renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and now housing the Qaitbey Castle. Following that, take the time to wander through the exquisite royal gardens of the final Egyptian king, King Farouk, and behold the majestic Haramlek and Salamlek palaces, as well as the exclusive royal beaches. The Luxor Museum is a remarkable attraction to explore. The majority of these valuable objects were acquired from the Theban temples and necropolis.

In November 1922, the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered in remarkable condition by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon in the Valley of the Kings. The king’s mummified body was found adorned with precious grave goods, resting within a magnificent golden coffin. The burial chamber was officially opened on February 17, 1923, in the presence of Egyptologists and government officials.
