The cost of the trip will change depending on when you travel, how many people are in your group, and whether you choose a private or shared dahabiya. Typically, private dahabiyahs are pricier because they provide a more intimate and customized experience. Additionally, prices may differ based on the time of year, with peak seasons being more expensive. For further information, please get in touch with us.

At the 5 day merit dahabiya cruise , we strive to eliminate any concerns you may have while on vacation. We have taken all necessary measures to ensure this. When you reach Luxor, the tour manager, who was designated to you at the time of booking, will be present at the airport or railway station to greet you and provide any assistance you may require. In addition, one of our drivers will be waiting outside with a comfortable and contemporary air-conditioned vehicle.
After exchanging greetings, your tour manager and our driver will accompany you to the location where you will board the extravagant Merit Dahabiya river yacht. Upon boarding, you will complete the check-in process, and around noon, you will be provided with your initial delicious lunch on the yacht. The boat’s talented chef will prepare all meals, offering you a delightful range of both Egyptian and international cuisines during your cruise.
Once you have finished your lunch, the Merit Dahabiya Nile River cruise itinerary commences with a trip to the East Bank of Luxor. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore two remarkable ancient landmarks: Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. While Luxor Temple is in better condition, the vast size of the Karnak Temple complex makes it just as captivating, if not more so.
After visiting these two locations, you will then be heading back to your luxurious river yacht, known as a Dahabiya, where you can unwind for a while before enjoying a delightful dinner in the early evening. Later on, you will experience your first night’s sleep in your exquisitely furnished cabin aboard the yacht in Luxor.
Meals Included: Lunch and Dinner
On the second day of your 5 day merit dahabiya cruise , you will start with a satisfying breakfast and then head to Luxor’s West Bank. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore three remarkable ancient sites. Firstly, you will visit the Valley of the Kings, an extensive burial ground that houses over 60 ancient tombs, including the noteworthy tomb of King Tutankhamen. Additionally, you will get to marvel at the awe-inspiring rock-cut mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, as well as the colossal Colossi of Memnon.
Upon completing a memorable tour, you will return to your Dahabiya and indulge in a deliciously crafted lunch. As the boat sets sail towards Esna, there are no additional excursions planned for the day, providing you with an ideal chance to unwind or engage in bird watching. Additionally, you can take a refreshing dip in the outdoor Jacuzzi, savor some drinks or cocktails in the lounge or bar, or connect with loved ones through digital means.
At approximately 3:00 pm, you can savor a delightful afternoon tea on the sundeck of the boat. Later in the evening, as the boat sails, dinner will be served. When the boat approaches Esna, it will slightly alter its direction and dock beside a charming small island for the night.
Food provided: Morning, midday, and evening meals
On the third day of the 5 day merit dahabiya cruise , you will enjoy your breakfast, the river yacht will navigate through the Esna Lock, providing a unique and pleasant experience. After passing through the Lock, the voyage will continue to Edfu, accompanied by a delicious lunch.
The boat is expected to reach Edfu around midday, and afterwards, there will be an exciting excursion to visit the Edfu Temple. This temple, which dates back to the Greco-Roman era, was left behind by the Romans and eventually got buried in the sand. It remained hidden for over 2,000 years until it was rediscovered, resulting in its extraordinary preservation. In fact, it is considered the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt.
After your trip to Edfu Temple, you will return to your Dahabiya and sail to El Ramady Island, where it will be anchored for the night. Dinner will be provided in the evening, and you will spend the night of your cruise on the water near El Ramady Island.
The package covers meals like breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On the 4th day of your 5 day merit dahabiya cruise, the day starts early before breakfast. If you are already awake, it is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the deck. Later, breakfast will be served on the water as you sail towards Aswan, making a stop at El Sheikh Fadl Island.
Indulge in another delectable lunch while you cruise, and just a short while after you’ve completed your meal, you’ll reach the island. Today, rather than having afternoon tea and dinner on the boat, you’ll enjoy your tea and dinner on El Sheikh Fadl Island.
Once you have finished savoring a delightful meal on the island, you will return to the river yacht and continue sailing to Aswan, where it will dock for the night. Take pleasure in spending your final evening aboard the Merit Dahabiya Nile River Cruise as it remains in Aswan.
Food provided: Morning meal, midday meal, and evening meal
unfortunately, this marks the final day of your 5 day merit dahabiya cruises. However, before bidding farewell, indulge in a satisfying breakfast and embark on a delightful journey to visit two remarkable sights. Commencing with the ancient Philae Temple, it is noteworthy that this grand structure was relocated to a higher location to protect it from the escalating waters of Lake Nasser after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
Following that, you will have the opportunity to visit the Aswan High Dam, a structure that has had a profound and permanent impact on Egypt. Afterward, it will be time for you to head back to the Merit Dahabiya to pack up and gather your belongings. Once the timing is appropriate, we will guide you again to the airport or train station, depending on your next travel plans.
We, the team at Egypt Tours Plus, wish and have faith that your cruise exceeded all of your expectations and brought you even greater joy. May you have a safe and joyful continuation of your journey.

Please be aware that the hotel rating system in Egypt differs from that in the USA or Europe. Therefore, we strongly suggest considering our Luxury or Ultimate Luxury hotel options as the minimum standard in Egypt. Some 5-star hotels in Egypt may have a lower standard compared to those in other regions, resembling more like 3- or 4-star hotels. We do not recommend staying at 3- or 4-star hotels, as we have received numerous complaints from our guests regarding their quality.
Avoid long lines and time-consuming processes upon arrival. Our representative will ensure your visa is ready in advance. Simply send us a copy of your passport.
Attention: If you possess a valid Schengen, USA, or UK Visa, we can offer you visa assistance upon your arrival. There is no need for you to apply at the embassy in advance.
We do not suggest it as a good option since the journey lasts for approximately 15 to 18 hours and the train is incredibly noisy. The toilets are in poor condition and emit unpleasant odors. The overall quality of the food is not satisfactory.
Enjoy a worry-free journey and ensure your safety by opting for the AIG Travel Guard Travel Insurance program. For a duration of one week, the cost is $25 per person, while for trips lasting longer than one week, the price increases to $50 per person.
Upgrade your mode of transportation to a luxurious van in order to enhance and improve your travel experience with a higher level of comfort.
Exclusive deal: For an extra fee of only 50 dollars per individual, you have the opportunity to indulge in the top-notch features and services provided by Business Class. This includes ample leg space and comfortable seats, mouthwatering meals, and high-quality entertainment options.
