Following the transfer to Memphis, a city established by King Menes, it became the ancient capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. This city, which served as a hub for governance and cultural development for over 3,000 years, held the prestigious title of being Egypt’s first capital. Our guide will collect you from your hotel for breakfast and then take you to Salah El Din Citadel. This fortress was built by Salah El Din in 1183 AD on the Moqattam hills. Its purpose was to protect Cairo from the Crusaders’ armies.

Please be aware that the Alexandria Library is not open on public holidays. Additionally, in order to access the reading area, it is necessary to obtain an additional ticket.
You will require comfortable, flat shoes (ideally with a covering) when visiting the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings. Don’t forget to also pack flip flops or sandals to wear on the Nile felucca or Nile Cruiser.
