On the second day of 14 days of classic pharaohs adventure, we will embark on a tour of Cairo, which includes exploring the ancient mummies and taking a thrilling camel ride.
Begin your day by exploring the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the sole museum in Egypt that provides a comprehensive look at the various historical eras of the country. With over 50,000 artifacts on display, this museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the evolution of Egyptian civilization from ancient times to the modern era.
The Royal Mummies Hall, located within the Egyptian Civilization Museum, is a notable attraction that visitors should not miss. This area specifically houses royal mummies that have been discovered in various tombs. The room is carefully regulated to ensure the mummies are well preserved. Despite being mummified over 4,000 years ago, the mummies of Kings Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis, and Ramses are in remarkably good condition. These ancient rulers’ bodies are slim, and the mummies themselves appear smaller and shorter than they were in life. Take a leisurely stroll through this room and observe the peaceful resting place of pharaohs and queens, now protected in a climate-controlled environment that is far from their original burial sites.
Afterwards, you can explore the Great Pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerions. Cheops is renowned for its immense size, being the largest pyramid ever constructed. Following that, you can also have a detailed view of the Sphinx, which is a massive burial site protected by the iconic lion statue featuring the face of King Chephren.
Have a delightful experience on your camel ride as you get to witness incredible panoramic sights of the Sphinx and Pyramids. Learn intriguing and undisclosed tales about the lives of the Pharaohs. I will provide you with exclusive clues and information that are not available in books.
If desired, take an evening excursion to experience the sound and light show in the Pyramids region.
