On the second day of 12 days of classic Egyptian treasures package, we will explore Cairo and visit the Mummy Experience, followed by a camel ride.
Begin your day by having breakfast. Kick-start your excursion by first exploring the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the sole museum in Egypt that provides a comprehensive depiction of all the various historical eras of Egypt. This museum houses over 50,000 artifacts, showcasing the evolution of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric ages until our present time.
The Egyptian Civilization Museum houses the Royal Mummies Hall, which is a highly recommended area to visit. Within this hall, there is a dedicated section that preserves the royal mummies discovered in various tombs. The room is carefully regulated in terms of climate, ensuring that the mummies are well preserved. Despite being mummified over 4000 years ago, the mummies of Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis, and Ramses, who were kings during that time, are in good condition. These mummies have a slender physique and appear smaller and shorter than they were in life. Take your time strolling through this room, where you can observe the Pharaohs and queens at rest in peace within climate-controlled surroundings, far away from their original burial sites.
Afterward, you can explore the impressive Great Pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerions. Out of these, Cheops stands out as the most enormous one ever constructed. Following that, you can also have a detailed view of the Sphinx, a massive burial site protected by the iconic lion-shaped body with the likeness of King Chephren’s face.
Indulge in a camel ride where you will witness exquisite views of the Sphinx and Pyramids. Discover intriguing tales about the Pharaohs’ lives, including exclusive insights and information not found in books! It is possible to go on an evening outing to experience the sound and light show in the vicinity of the Pyramids.
