On the third day of 10 days of Pharaoh’s Golden Parade package, there will be a Royal Mummies Golden Parade and a visit to the Egyptian Museum.
Begin your day with breakfast and then head to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the sole museum in Egypt that provides a comprehensive understanding of the various historical eras of the country. With an impressive collection of over 50,000 artifacts, this museum showcases the rich Egyptian civilization from its earliest beginnings to modern times.
The Mummies Halls are considered the most valuable part of the museum. People all around the globe have been stunned by the Pharaoh’s Golden Parade, which involved transporting 22 royal mummies from the Old Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to their new permanent location in the National Museum of Civilization.
The Royal Mummies Hall is home to several significant mummies, including those of King Ramses the Second, Queen Hatshepsut, King Thutmos the Third, and Queen Ahmos Nefertary. This hall is specifically designed to showcase the mummies from ancient Egypt. The layout and location of the mummies are intended to recreate the experience of wandering through the Valley of Kings, where the mummies were originally buried. In total, the Royal Mummies Hall displays approximately 150 items, consisting of both mummies and their coffins. Additionally, for the first time, each mummy is exhibited alongside the coffin in which it was discovered. The mummies are now housed in special underground halls beneath the main hall, symbolizing the “underworld” in which the royal mummies were found.
Afterwards, pay a visit to the Egyptian Museum, which showcases over 250,000 artifacts that present a unique compilation of Egyptian art spanning a period of 5,000 years. Don’t miss the renowned Tutankhamen room, exhibiting treasures, jewelry, and golden items that were enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until their discovery during the excavation of his tomb in 1920.
Overnight in Cairo
On the fourth day of 10 days of Pharaoh’s Golden Parade package, the itinerary includes visiting Cairo and embarking on a Nile cruise to Luxor. The main highlights of the day will be exploring the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, which mark the starting points of the journey.
After having breakfast, we will head to the domestic airport for our flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, we will be transferred to the West Bank, where we will visit the Valley of Kings and Queens. This is the place where the mummies, who were a part of the impressive golden parade, were found in two hidden places. The first cache was discovered in 1881 in tomb TT320 at Deir El-Bahari in Luxor’s West Bank.
Travel to the Valley of the Kings and explore the tombs of different ancient Egyptian dynasties. One of the notable tombs you will see is that of King Tutankhamun, which you will have the opportunity to visit from the inside. Tutankhamun reigned over Egypt for approximately 10 years, from around 1336 to 1327 BCE. In November 1922, Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon made a remarkable discovery by finding Tutankhamun’s mostly undisturbed tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Inside the tomb, they uncovered the mummified body of the king, surrounded by valuable grave items, all enclosed within a magnificent golden coffin. The burial chamber was officially opened on February 17, 1923, in the presence of Egyptologists and government officials.
In today’s context, Tutankhamun holds the title of ancient Egypt’s most renowned pharaoh. However, the extent of your knowledge regarding the young king may be limited. In this tour, I aim to shed light on the lesser-known aspects of Tutankhamun’s life.
Keep exploring the Valley of the Queens, which is also called Ta-Set-Neferu or “The Place of Beauty”. This valley was used as a burial ground for members of the royal family and the wealthy elite. It contains around 90 tombs belonging to queens and princes from the ancient Egyptian New Kingdom (1550–1070 BC). During your visit, you will have the opportunity to see the stunning and vibrant tomb of Queen Nefertari (extra ticket required).
Next, proceed to explore the Temple of Deir El Bahari, dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, a prominent female pharaoh who governed Egypt during its prosperous era, when it held dominion over the eastern lands.
Hatshepsut, a prominent woman in Egyptian history, ruled for twenty years and was involved in construction projects in Egypt. Additionally, she is recognized for creating new trade routes until her passing in 1458 BC. Howard Carter discovered her in 1902, and her mummy was one of twenty-two mummies transferred during the Golden Parade and is currently housed in the Egyptian Civilization Museum.
The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is an extraordinary feat of engineering. Its purpose is to narrate the remarkable story of her life and rule while also surpassing all others in its exquisite beauty and magnificence.
During your trip back, make sure to make a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, a pair of enormous seated statues that depict Amenhotep III and are positioned towards the Nile. After that, take some time to explore the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Board the Nile Cruise for transportation. Stay overnight in Luxor.
Occasionally, changes may be made to the itineraries, schedules, and sailing times of some cruises on the Nile. However, we guarantee that our clients will still be able to experience everything listed on their itineraries, albeit potentially in a different sequence.
After having breakfast, you can proceed to the mummification museum. This museum showcases the ancient Egyptian practice of mummification and exhibits various artifacts and mummies. You will gain knowledge about specialized mummification techniques used to preserve different animal species like crocodiles, cats, and fish. The museum’s collection includes a unique display of mummified animals as well as tools, materials, canopic jars, amulets, and coffins used in the embalming process. Additionally, there are ancient tablets recording the funeral procession from death to burial.
A trip to see the Karank and Luxor temples is an alternative choice.
(If desired, there is an optional hot air balloon ride available.) The duration of the flight is approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the current weather conditions.
You will spend this Overnight of 10 days of Pharaoh’s Golden Parade package in cruise.
Start the day with breakfast served on the boat. Explore the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Continue sailing towards Kom Ombo and enjoy lunch on the boat. Then, visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, which is shared by both gods, in Kom Ombo.
Afterwards, proceed with your visit to the mummification exhibition. In ancient Egypt, the practice of mummification was not limited to human corpses; they also mummified animals. These animals were mummified for four primary reasons: to ensure that beloved pets could join their owners in the afterlife; to serve as sustenance in the afterlife; to be offered to specific gods; and because some animals were considered physical forms of gods worshipped by the Egyptians.
During your guided tour, you will be brought to a crocodile museum, which houses 22 mummified crocodiles of different sizes. These crocodiles are displayed in a large glass enclosure situated on a sand hill. Here, you will have the opportunity to observe and learn about the daily activities of crocodiles in ancient Egypt.
Additionally, there is a display of various crocodile coffins and wooden sarcophagi, as well as crocodile fetuses and eggs. Stelae and statues portraying the god Sobek, with a human body and a crocodile head, are also featured.

(Optional) Abu Simbel Trip
The paragraph discusses going to the Temple of Abu Simbel, which was constructed by Ramses II and recently protected from the flooding of the Nile River. The temple is considered one of the most magnificent ancient Egyptian structures.
The temples were constructed from a sandstone cliff, and the faces of the deities they were dedicated to are carved onto the large exterior. Adjacent to them, the small Temple of Nefertari, the King’s wife, dedicated to Hathor, is also preserved. Let’s return to Aswan.

Therefore, we strongly suggest considering our Luxury or Ultimate Luxury hotel options as the minimum standard in Egypt. Some 5-star hotels in Egypt may have a lower standard compared to those in other regions, resembling more like 3- or 4-star hotels. We do not recommend staying at 3- or 4-star hotels, as we have received numerous complaints from our guests regarding their quality.
